One Year Old

Published by Maria under Just Jacob,Occasions

We’re on the cheap here and opted to not get “professional” pictures taken for Jacob’s 1 year documenting. So, what we have are some pictures we took outside in our yard. I think we could stick this kid in a pile of trash and take a picture with a waterlogged disposable camera and they’d still be super cute pictures! We’ve uploaded these to Shutterfly.com so if any of you would like prints of them, you can order them from there. If I did it right, you should be able to print up to 8″x10″ size with no trouble.

Here is the link for the Shutterfly album. If the link doesn’t work, leave a comment here in the blog post and make sure to include your email address. I’ll have Shutterfly send you an official email with the proper link. Jacob’s 1yr Shutterfly Pictures

“We did.”

Published by Maria under Occasions

Three years ago we did our I do’s. If you were with us that day you’ll probably remember this video our dear friend Jen Galipault put together for us. It’s been probably the full 3 years since we’ve watched this but thought it would be a fun way to commemorate our little Frey family holiday. :)

Storm Water Shower

Published by Maria under Occasions

Today we were once again showered with gifts. With all these “showers” lately (1 and 2) it was only fitting that we end up in the conference room of Storm Water Services. Pun intended.

You can’t say that engineers are all left-brained…they did a great job cleverly decorating the room with fighter jets and army tanks and camoflauge – if you didn’t know the shower was for Steve, you’d think this was a military send off party…someone in the building did!

It was a fun time. We ate lunch, had ice cream cake, opened gifts and everybody was encouraging and shared their knowledge with us. It’s nice to know that even away from our family most of the time we still have people watching out for us. Even on the psuedo-14th floor of the Charlotte Mecklenburg Government Center.

Thanks to everyone who organized and attended the shower. We really appreciate it and look forward to showing off Steve’s Mini-Me. :)

6 weeks

Published by Maria under Occasions

Today marks our 34th week of pregnancy! They tell me that the average magic number is 40 weeks. So that means we’ve got 6 weeks to go until our household gets its reclassification of family of 3. (Well, okay 4 – how can I not include Ruth the Tooth)

Things have been going well. Despite the new challenges this week of actually “feeling pregnant” I really couldn’t ask for better health for both me and the baby.

Steve and I have this characteristic about us that we both work better under pressure. That means that we leave a lot to be done at the last minute. However, I’m learning that when you’re 34 weeks pregnant, there is no doing at the last minute. My body reminds me continuously of how severely limited I am: both physically AND mentally. This is a tough thing for me, but I’ve reached the point where I have to raise my little white flag and let others do it all or let it go without being done. Lucky for me I’ve got an incredible husband who is amazingly supportive and happy to take on the extra load in exchange for me growing our boy. :)

Many of you have asked for an updated picture of the bulge. As an added treat, I was able to locate what I believe was the 1st picture we took. Coincidentally, it was taken 6 weeks into the pregnancy, so it’s only fitting that I post it today with it being T-minus 6 weeks to go.
