The idea of posting these so far was kind of fun…That is until I looked at my stomach on a 24″ glossy screen at high resolution. Please don’t look too long at these.

You can’t tell, but the jeans in week 7 are a size smaller and I can zipper and button them. The jeans in week 18.5 are being held closed with an old hair tie looped around the button and they are barely zipped. Trust me, the frontal shot is not pretty…take my word.
Christina, I hope this satisfies you for a little while!

We’ve had a few rainy days lately here in Charlotte. Rain is good though. It replenishes the land, and keeps Steve busy at work! I suppose if you work in the Storm Water department, rain is good for job security…unless it proves failure in one of your projects.
In case you didn’t realize it, Steve works downtown er…”uptown” and his office is on the 14th floor. (We all know it’s really 13…come on superstition.) He managed to get a shot of the view today from his window. Even a rainy, wintery day can have it’s multicolored linings.

I got a new toy this week…the Canon Powershot G9.
I’ve been wanting a new digital camera for a while now. I had heard a rumor that there was a compact camera on the market that now shot in RAW format. Perfect for the graphic designer in me that likes to tinker with stuff on the computer. Also, the camera is loaded with tons of other features that make it a strong contender to replace Steve’s digital SLR…which gets cumbersome when trying to take it on hikes. There are lots of settings and dials to play with and customize, many of which I haven’t even explored yet.
I did however take it with us to the Biltmore Estate this weekend. You can’t take pictures inside the house, but we were walking around the gardens and I caught the perfect “first image” to showcase my new gadget.
Even though I’ve barely done more than point and shoot out of the box, it’s a vast improvement over the camera I had…may it rest in peace.

Wordle-Beautiful Word Clouds
Use any website address to randomly generate a fun (and tweakable) “cloud” of keywords from your site. The more frequent a word appears in your source text, the more prominent it appears. You then can go in and edit fonts and colors and sizes….for added fun.
We’ve got a fair amount of postings so far on our little blog, so I thought I’d create a Wordle of my own to see what kind of stuff it is we ramble about. If our Wordle is any indication of our time spent in NC so far, I’d say we’re pretty happy and having fun! Of course, with the exception of our sewer line backup, most posts have been positive in nature.
Anyway, if you’ve got a blog, or just feel like wasting some time on the internet…try it out!
