Big Boy Clothes

I was curious to see what he’d look like in something other than a onesie. So…there you have it. I don’t like it. He looks too grown up. He’s not even 6 weeks old yet. I guess it doesn’t help either that he really doesn’t have any “baby fat.”

After looking at this picture though, I see a difference in him these past few weeks. I spend so much time with him being home all day that I don’t pick up on the little changes like those of you who are away…or even his dad who swears he sees a change every time he comes home from work.

Change is good though…cuz he keeps getting cuter and cuter!

Happy Monthday

Our friend Andrea coined that little phrase and it’s only fitting. Happy Monthday to Jacob yesterday! I think every day has it’s milestone moments, but who has time to blog EVERY day!

We went for his one month checkup and all is progressing as it seems it should. He’s now a healthy 8bs 14oz (1lb and 1oz above his birth weight) and 22 1/4in (give or take…it’s tough to measure the length of a squirmy, crying newborn)

Here are a few pictures taken on or very close to around the time when he was officially one month old.

We’re already noticing things like:

holding his head up
cooing
smiling other than from gas
pushing off with his legs
being more attentive and starting to track better with his eyes
sleeping longer chunks during the night (YAY!)

He seems to LOVE the mobile over his crib. We’ll turn it on and he’ll watch it and talk to it and smile…but then the second it stops he cries. No worries though, as long as we crank it back up, he’s as content as can be. Luckily that little $40 splurge turned out not to be wasted!

In some ways it’s been a long month, in others it’s flown by. Either way we love having him in our lives.

Jacob Thomas Frey

Today Jacob is 3 weeks old. I know, I know…that’s a long time to wait to post about him. We’ve been a little busy! haha

There may have been a shortage of internet time spent, but not of picture taking! To prove it, I’ll post some below.

Just to recap for those of you who are just as out of the loop as I am lately…

Jacob Thomas Frey was born at 12:18am on July 20, 2009 (Yes, the 40th Anniversary of the Lunar Landing!) He weighed in at 7lbs and 13oz and was 21.5 inches long. (Our little sack of chicken bones.)

It goes without saying (yet I’ll say it anyway) that Steve and I are amazed, thrilled, excited, grateful, etc to have this little guy in our lives. We’re embracing parenthood with all that we have and loving every minute of it. Even those minutes at 3:30am…and all the other AMs that seem to exist now.
