Inaugural Snow
Today, Charlotte got it’s first snow. While not much, it’s still an exciting thing to see. Probably the most excited was our dog Ruthie. She didn’t know what to do first. She spent a few minutes licking the snow off the deck. Then she’d run down in the yard, find her a treasured stick, and hang out under the deck for protection.
This day is obviously also significant on a much greater scale than my dog eating snow. President-Elect Obama will have his “first day at work.” I turned on Fox News while Ruthie and I thawed out a bit, and they were talking about all the preparations for the day. The big topic was how they have set up thousands of port-o-lets but failed to think about how many layers people would be wearing on this cold day in D.C. People are packed together so tight, and wearing so many layers, that it will undoubtedly make those “pit stops” a little less than timely.
I love how even on such a significant day in history, we can all remember that we’re full of…
Um, anyway
here are a few pictures and a video from our snow here on Breezy Morn Lane. Enjoy!
