One Year Old

Published by Maria under Just Jacob,Occasions

We’re on the cheap here and opted to not get “professional” pictures taken for Jacob’s 1 year documenting. So, what we have are some pictures we took outside in our yard. I think we could stick this kid in a pile of trash and take a picture with a waterlogged disposable camera and they’d still be super cute pictures! We’ve uploaded these to Shutterfly.com so if any of you would like prints of them, you can order them from there. If I did it right, you should be able to print up to 8″x10″ size with no trouble.

Here is the link for the Shutterfly album. If the link doesn’t work, leave a comment here in the blog post and make sure to include your email address. I’ll have Shutterfly send you an official email with the proper link. Jacob’s 1yr Shutterfly Pictures

Menus, Meals, and Maria???

Published by Maria under Daily Grind,Tips

sample-menuDon’t laugh, but I’ve started to do something organized. Menu Planning! With baby #2 on the way and baby #1 starting to eat his weight everyday, it’s become apparent that we have A) less time and B) less money to waste in the area of FOOD. So for the past couple of weeks I’ve been planning out a weekly menu, making a detailed shopping… list, and sticking to the budget! For those of you that know me will find this hard to believe…but don’t fear – there’s still plenty of other areas in my life that are chaotic and make no sense whatsoever.

Anyway, I just found this blog post about another mom who does the same thing. Funny enough, her process she outlines is very similar to what I’ve been doing. I’m just not as good yet. I’d LOVE to feed my family for $80-$120 a week. Maybe she doesn’t have all boys. ;) Maybe they’re midgets. ;)

Here’s the blog post if you’re interested in checking it out for yourself: http://annies-eats.com/2010/06/16/menu-planning-tips-and-tricks/
